Be a Team Player
In football, nothing is more important than supportive teamwork. Without the support of teammates, coaches, friends, family, and fans, a player will have little impact in the game. This concept also informs HIV prevention, since there exists no silver bullet to fighting the spread of HIV. Recently, HIV experts have identified the need for combination, multi-level prevention that uses multiple communication channels to reach at-risk populations.
F4 partners are merging their areas of expertise to create a comprehensive set of strategies, including school-based programs, community outreach events like "Kick-n-Test" soccer tournaments, and football themed multimedia targeting young people with HIV prevention messages.
Let us hear from you. What are your ideas on how your community can work towards a goal of an HIV-Free Generation. What should young people be doing to mobilize their communities?
